I'm looking for suggestions on a compact device that my boyfriend can use to download TV shows and movies for travel. We want something phone-sized with a decent screen and plenty of storage that doesn't rely on an internet connection, allowing us to watch when we're not at home. We're considering an iPod 7 with 256GB of storage, but we're not sure if this is the best choice. Any advice on alternatives or whether the iPod is a good fit would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, watching videos on a small screen like an iPod isn’t ideal. I’d recommend either a large phone with enough storage to hold your content or a tablet, like an iPad, that has ample storage. You’ll appreciate the bigger screen when watching together.
I think a tablet is really the way to go! There are some good small media players, but most are more for music. I have a Samsung Tab6 Lite with a micro SD card and 1TB of space, which is plenty for shows and movies. Plus, you don’t need internet to use it while traveling, but you can connect if you want. The bigger screen makes watching way more enjoyable!
True, I think the goal is just to use it for storage and then connect to a larger screen when possible. That way you can really enjoy the movies!
