I'm curious about which programming languages people think will be in demand in the next few years, specifically looking toward 2025. If you had to pick just one language to focus on for the future, which one would it be and why?

I love Go! It’s close to perfect for the projects I work on. A better type system would be nice, but I really enjoy using it.
I really enjoy using Gleam, so I'd pick that if I had to choose. But realistically, I'd say just go with the top 5 mainstream languages since they tend to lead the industry.
Gleam is awesome! Glad to see someone else mention it.
I looked into Gleam for a while too, seems promising!
If I had to pick one, I'd choose Python, especially since it's becoming crucial in AI fields. It really opens up a lot of opportunities.
Python is indeed dominating the AI landscape. Can't go wrong with it!
I think there will always be a demand for languages like Java, C++, C#, and even PHP, despite some skepticism around PHP. They’ve stood the test of time and I don’t see that changing.
PHP? Really? Thought it was on the decline.
JavaScript and Python are likely safe bets for the coming years. Though, I think it’s less about picking one language and more about being adaptable. Tech shifts so fast that learning a new language isn’t as daunting as some might believe!
Couldn't agree more! It's all about learning the fundamentals.
Go has been great for my development work too!
