I'm currently learning Python and considering picking up C#. I'm curious about which programming languages are the most valuable for landing a job in the future. I want to be well-prepared and possibly ensure I have good options when job hunting.

From what I've seen, the most in-demand programming languages right now are JavaScript, Python, Java, and C#. Keep in mind though, just because there are lots of job ads for a certain language doesn’t mean it’s easier to get hired. For instance, JavaScript has a ton of job listings in the U.S., but that also means there are loads of developers vying for those jobs, which makes it competitive.

Interestingly, sometimes it pays off to learn a less common language. For example, Rust developers can earn an average salary of about $150,000, which is significantly higher than many JavaScript roles. Additionally, if you want to increase your chances of employment, it might be worth it to focus on a specific area, like machine learning with Python, because that field is booming right now.

Thanks, that’s really helpful! I get now that it’s not just about picking a popular language; it’s also key to specialize in what you can build with it. I can see why Python for AI or a niche language like Rust could be more valuable.
