I'm looking for a program that can help clean out junk files from my Windows 10 computer and also scan for viruses. Recently, I've noticed that I'm losing about 1MB of storage every 10 seconds, and I'm not sure why. Can anyone help me understand what's going on and recommend some software?

For cleaning up your system, Disk Cleanup is definitely sufficient. Just right-click on your C: drive and run it. You might be losing space due to temporary files or updates that Windows is downloading in the background. It's pretty normal to lose a bit of space here and there, 1MB isn’t a big deal.
To clear out temporary files, you can use these steps: Press Windows + R, type "prefetch", hit Enter, then select all files and delete. Repeat this for "temp" and "%temp%". Be sure to grant any admin permissions needed. As for antivirus, I typically use Windows Defender, but feel free to ask for more recommendations!
Microsoft Defender generally does a good job at protecting against viruses. If you're looking for additional options, Malwarebytes is worth trying. Also, tools like WinDirStat can help you see what's using up space on your drive. Don't stress too much about losing 1MB; it's likely just temporary files being created.
Okay! I didn't realize it was just the temp files 🙂
Oh, alright! Thanks for the info 🙂
