What Project Management Tool is Best for Our Coding Team?

Hi everyone! I'm looking for some advice on organizing the roadmap for a coding project my friends and I are working on, which is a social media app. We're teenagers, so we're hoping to build good organizational habits without spending money on premium tools. We need a straightforward method that makes it easy to keep track of our tasks while also showing us a clear order of what we need to do.
Currently, we're using Notion to list tasks by project areas like frontend and backend, but it feels disorganized—just a long list of tasks without any order or connections between them. What we're envisioning is a roadmap-based system that allows us to break down tasks into categories (like UI, Authentication, etc.) and provides a linear flow, where each task has its own notes or mini-subs to track progress.
We're curious about what tools might work best for us—like Notion, ClickUp, Jira, or Asana—since we want something user-friendly. Any suggestions would be super helpful!

I'd recommend giving Jira a shot! It's the go-to tool in many companies for organizing and roadmapping. You can categorize everything into projects, epics, and tasks while also tracking priorities and statuses. It might feel a bit overwhelming at first, but it could really help you guys learn the standard practices used in the industry. Plus, you can easily add comments, attachments, and workflows as you grow your project. Would love to see where you take your project!

Thanks! Quick question though—how do you handle code documentation in Jira? Is there a specific way to manage that?
