What PSU Cable Do I Need for My New RTX 5080 GPU?

Hey everyone! I just purchased an RTX 5080 Prime for my computer, which currently has an RT 7900XT. Since I'm not experienced with building PCs, I could use some help with the PSU cables needed for the new graphics card.

My power supply is a Seasonic Focus GX ATX 3.0, 80+ Gold, rated at 750W, and I plan to upgrade it in a few months. The RT 7900XT has a double 8-pin PCIe cable that I'm guessing won't be compatible with the RTX 5080. Do I need a 16-pin PCIe cable instead, or is there something I'm missing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If your PSU supports it, go for a native 12V-2x6 connector. While you can adapt multiple 8-pin PCIe cables, it takes up more space and can create extra points of failure.

I think I have that 12V one! It has two heads with 8 holes and one with 12+4 smaller ones. Does that sound right? [cable](https://ibb.co/SHcb0Bq)

There’s usually a converter included in the box with the GPU. For example, my Gainward 5070 came with one, so I'd expect the RTX 5080 to have the same. Check your box; you might already have what you need!

Thanks for letting me know! I found the converter but wasn't sure if I could use it. Glad to hear it might work!
