Since Microsoft has renamed the Remote Desktop app to "Windows App" and seems to be limiting its functionality, I'm curious about what everyone is using for remote desktop connections. I just got a new laptop and am keeping my old one, and one of my favorite features of the original app was its ability to resize windows dynamically. Any recommendations?

I've been using Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager. It manages all my Windows and Linux environments in one place. Super handy!
I recently discovered Mobaxterm from an old company laptop. The free version works just fine, but I ended up buying a license because it was that good. Now that the Windows app isn't supporting individual PC connections, it’s been a lifesaver!
Totally agree! Moba's fantastic for all my SSH, telnet, and RDP needs, all rolled into one!
I just type in **mstsc.** That still works for me!
Hey there, fellow old timer! Glad to see I'm not the only one still using that.
Same! I just hit start and type 'remote' and it pops up.
For Windows, I recommend using RDCMan. For Linux, Remmina is great. I have my settings saved in OneDrive, which makes switching between machines a breeze!
RDCMan is awesome! Having different credential profiles for each group is super helpful.
I had no idea they brought RDCMan back! That's fantastic news.
They basically just rebranded it as the "Windows App," which is hilarious. At least it wasn’t called something like "Copilot Session."
But yeah, the new app doesn't support local RDP connections, only AVD sessions.
For real! The free version has so many features, it’s insane. Totally love Devolutions!
