What Resolution Can I Expect from My New PC Build? Should I Upgrade My Monitor?

Hey everyone! I'm super excited because my new PC build is set to arrive next week! Here's what I've got:

- Fractal Design Torrent Solid
- Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2x16) 6000 CL30 EXPO XMP 3.0
- MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi
- Noctua NH-D15 G2 CPU Cooler
- Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 140mm
- Samsung SSD 2.0TB 990 Pro NVMe M.2
- Corsair RM850x 850W ATX 3.1 Gold Modular
- RTX 5070 Ti Trio
- Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Now, I was wondering what resolution I should expect from this setup. Is 4K too much to handle, or would sticking to 1440p be a better option? I currently have the Asus ROG Strix XG279Q monitor. Is it sufficient, or should I consider getting a new one in the $500 range?

4K can work with DLSS, but I would stick to 1440p for better FPS, especially depending on the games you play. Your monitor seems pretty solid, so unless you're itching for an OLED, I’d save my cash for now.

With DLSS, your RTX 5070 Ti can definitely pull off 4K. But if happiness at 1440p is what you’re going for, stick with that for better performance in most games!

Thanks! That's reassuring to hear.

Yeah, I agree! 1440p will give you sweet graphics and smoother FPS.

You'll definitely be good for 1440p gaming with that build. Your current monitor should work fine, no need to rush an upgrade!

You could go up to 4K if that's what you want, but I personally think 1440p is the sweet spot for gaming. Get a 4K later if you're just playing around; focus on performance first!

It really depends on what frame rates you're aiming for. That setup can handle both 4K and 1440p, so it’s up to your preference!
