Hey everyone, my Ryzen 5 2600 just died, but it seems like my A520M motherboard is still functioning. I'm trying to figure out what Ryzen 5 CPUs I can swap in that would be compatible. The motherboard's official page mentions support for Ryzen 5000, 4000, and 3000 series, but I'm a bit confused. Am I looking at the right motherboard?

I'd suggest going with either the Ryzen 5 5500 or 5600X for a solid performance boost. Just make sure to update the BIOS on your motherboard beforehand to ensure compatibility.
If your BIOS is updated, you should be able to use any Ryzen CPU from 3000 to 5000 series. Just double check your motherboard model as you might actually have an A320 instead. Another tip is to consider the Ryzen 5 5700X if you're looking for something with a bit more longevity!
Your A520M motherboard should support all those Ryzen series CPUs. In fact, you can likely pop in a Ryzen 5 5600X without any issues. If you give me the exact name of your motherboard, I can confirm it for you!
That's interesting! I bought my A520M and Ryzen 5 combo second hand, and it does say A520 on the board. I'm just worried that compatibility issues might have caused my CPU to fail in the first place.
