What Should I Do About Frequent BSOD with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Error?

Hey everyone! I upgraded my PC last month, and since June, I've been hit with random Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) with the error code "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL." I've tried updating the drivers (even fixed a missing one), scanning the RAM (no issues detected), and doing some troubleshooting via the console. However, it crashed again recently while I was just sitting there. I attempted to use Bluescreenview, but it's not really clear to me what the data means. I've read that this error could relate to unauthorized memory usage, but I have no clue how to tackle that without resorting to a complete wipe of my system. I've heard erasing everything might solve it, but I'd rather avoid that if possible. I've also got the DMP error files available if anyone needs them!

To dive deeper into the BSOD issue, it's crucial to get those dump files. They’re like crash logs that help identify what went wrong. If you can boot into Windows or use Safe Mode, check for dump files in C:WindowsMinidump. If you find any, zip them and upload to a file-sharing site—something like catbox.moe or mediafire works well right now. You might want multiple dump files because having just one doesn’t give us too much to work with. Also, consider changing the dump type to Small Memory Dump; this keeps your old dumps intact instead of overwriting them.

Got it! I’ll check for those dump files and see what I can do. Is there a way to change the dump type without messing anything up?

First, make sure your BIOS settings are stable—no weird freezes or glitches when you’re navigating through them. If everything looks good, updating your motherboard BIOS to the latest version (7B86vHN) is a good idea. You can find the update on MSI’s support page. Also, be sure to install the latest AMD Chipset Drivers specifically for your motherboard. The other downloads can sometimes cause issues. After that, keep an eye on the crashes and see if they persist.

Thanks for the guidance! Just to clarify, since my BIOS is from 2020, should I definitely go for the latest version? Is it risky to update?
