Hey everyone! I have a 4-year-old pre-built computer, and unfortunately, the motherboard has died. A friend of mine just built a new rig (check it out [here](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cv3fTM)), and I'm considering either replacing the motherboard with one that's compatible with my existing setup or buying both a new CPU and motherboard right now and keeping my current parts for a while longer. My aim is to gradually upgrade other components as my budget allows. Here are my current specs:
- Prebuilt G15CE-B11
- Graphics card: PNY GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB
- CPU: Intel i7-11700KF at 3.60 GHZ
- Current Motherboard: Strix B560-G Gaming Wifi
- RAM: 16GB total (2 sticks of 8GB)
- Memory: Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD 2TB
- Power Supply: Great Wall 80 Plus Gold E750
- Display: Dell 27 Gaming Monitor (S2721DGF)
What do you think? Should I just get a new compatible motherboard for now, or is it better in the long run to go for the new CPU and motherboard setup? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

If your budget allows, I'd recommend upgrading to the new CPU and motherboard. The AM5 socket supports a wide range of CPUs, which means you'll have options for upgrades well into the future, potentially until 2027. Also, consider getting 16GB of RAM now and 32GB later if you can!
If you can find a compatible motherboard for a good price, like around $70-80, that's a solid short-term fix while you save for better upgrades. Just look for local deals!
I think I can get a similar motherboard for around $100, give or take $20. Just to clarify, I have two 8GB sticks of RAM, so I have a total of 16GB!

I edited my post to correct earlier info—so I currently have 16GB of RAM. If I upgrade now, are you suggesting I should definitely go for a new motherboard and CPU?
