What should I do after a malware attack on my PC?

I recently had a serious issue where hackers almost took down my entire PC. After I deleted a massive Trojan, I noticed that my files seem to be encrypted or permission locked. I can't access most of the files on my D: drive, which include games and other important stuff. Whenever I try to change the permissions, I get denied access. Any advice on how to recover my files?

A good first step is to create a Windows installation flash drive and do a fresh installation of Windows. Make sure to back up any important photos or videos you might have, as those should be safe. You might be able to recover them after the reinstallation. Just be cautious and delete everything else. Those apps need to go to avoid further issues.

It sounds like your network was hacked, which is really concerning. I recommend reaching out to local law enforcement as it could be a serious cybersecurity incident. Additionally, if you have backups of your data, restoring from those might be the best way to go.
