What should I do after my AirPod fell in the toilet?

So I had this embarrassing moment where my AirPod fell out of my ear and right into the toilet while I was cleaning. They're not the Pros, so I don't think they're waterproof. I acted quickly and took it out, but now I'm worried about it. I used cotton to dry it off and a disinfectant wipe since it was gross, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm also worried about the little holes on the mesh part – could there still be water in there? I really can't afford to buy AirPods for a third time, so what should I do?

You could still use it, but honestly, it might be best to take it to an Apple Store. They'll help you with replacing just the one AirPod rather than having to buy a whole new set.

Just a heads up: none of the AirPods, even the Pros, are waterproof or water-resistant. If it’s not working, it might be because it didn’t recognize that it’s in your ear. You can replace a single AirPod for around $69, but yeah, you might want to be a bit discreet about the toilet water situation when you go for help. Just say it got wet without mentioning where it fell!

If it seems okay, you could try it, but seriously... Eww! Just be careful with that!
