What Should I Do After My iPhone Fell in a Puddle?

Hey everyone, I accidentally dropped my iPhone 15 into a puddle while I was doing Uber Eats. It was already at 10% battery before it fell, and I spent about 45 minutes trying to get the water out by playing sound and tapping it on my hand until it finally died. Now that I'm back home, I'm wondering if I should plug it in right away or wait 24 hours. I've noticed some fogging in the selfie camera, which has me a bit worried. What do you think I should do?

Since you had it on for 45 minutes after it fell, any damage that could've happened might already have occurred. But be careful, especially since it wouldn’t let you charge in the car due to moisture in the port. Give it time to dry and maybe use a blow dryer on a low setting to help with that.

I tried using a blow dryer and it's upright now, so fingers crossed!

Definitely wait at least 24 hours before plugging it in. Let it dry completely to avoid causing any further damage. You don’t want to risk short-circuiting it!

Gotcha! I’ll just let it sit and dry for a while.

Most newer iPhones are designed to be water-resistant, so there's a good chance yours will be fine after 24 hours of drying. Just make sure there aren’t any visible signs of moisture before plugging it back in.

I did notice some fogging in the selfie camera though, should I be concerned about that?
