I accidentally spilled some water on my HP 15 dy2xxx laptop while it was in my bag. When I got home, I tried to turn it on after plugging it in for about 10 minutes, but it didn't power up. I ended up flipping it over in a tent position and took it apart, removing the battery and using a microfiber cloth to dry it off. I'm now wondering what steps I should take next. Should I loosely cover it, or leave it open to dry further? Also, just so you know, I live in Grenada where the temperature is usually in the 80s with low humidity and little wind—would that help the drying process?

If it doesn't turn on after drying, it's likely that the motherboard is damaged. Unfortunately, that could mean it's time to start thinking about a new laptop. But since you mentioned you can't buy one right now, maybe it's a good excuse to take a break and enjoy some downtime instead!
Make sure the laptop is completely dry before trying to power it on again! You can leave it open in a dry area to ensure airflow helps it dry out. The low humidity where you live could definitely work in your favor. Just give it some time and check for any signs of moisture before closing it up.

Yeah, it's tough when you have exams! Hopefully, it won't come to that, and you can get it working again soon.
