I recently purchased an Asus ROG Strix x670E-E motherboard on eBay, and while it was sold as new, I didn't check the AM5 socket when it arrived because it was sealed. Since I finally received the other parts today, I noticed that there are missing pins in the socket. Would it be a bad idea to try using it as is to see if it works, or could that potentially damage other components? Also, I'll upload a picture to show you what I'm dealing with.

First off, definitely post a clear picture of the socket so others can help you assess the damage. As for using the motherboard with bent pins, it’s generally not a good idea. You risk causing further damage to the motherboard or other parts of your PC. It’s best to either try to fix the pins gently if you feel comfortable or consider getting a replacement depending on how severe the damage is.
Yeah, I agree. If the pins are really bent, it might cause shorts. Better safe than sorry!
