What should I do if my Apple gift card redeemed for the wrong amount?

Last year, I bought a MacBook Air that came with a promotion for a $200 gift card sent electronically via email. However, when I tried to redeem it, only $1 was added to my Apple Wallet instead of the full amount. I reached out to Apple support and provided all the necessary documents. Unfortunately, they emailed me back saying they couldn't fix the problem, but didn't explain why. I'm now stuck and not sure what my next step should be to get this sorted out.

It's possible there was an unpaid balance when you redeemed the card. Just double-check that there wasn't any previous charge that might have taken a chunk out of it.

Nope, Apple support confirmed that they couldn’t resolve my issue and said there was no explanation for the discrepancy.

I wonder if someone might have gotten their hands on your gift card number and redeemed a part of it. Sometimes, companies can't track those details due to privacy policies, which makes it hard to recover the funds.

I actually got an email from Apple with a link for the gift card, and when I clicked on it, I saw just $1 added, not $200. There was never a physical card involved.
