What should I do if my new CPU isn’t working?

I recently purchased a new CPU for my computer, specifically a Ryzen 7 5800X to replace my old Ryzen 5 3600. However, when I swapped them out, I noticed the EZ debug light on my motherboard is indicating issues with the VRAM and CPU. I'm using a B450M Pro VHD Max motherboard. I attempted to update the BIOS, but I'm not sure if I used the right version. Does it need to be a specific update, or could it be that my motherboard isn't compatible with the new CPU? I'd appreciate any guidance!

Try putting your Ryzen 5 3600 back in and perform the BIOS update while it's still installed. That way, you can ensure that your motherboard has the latest firmware before switching to the new CPU.

Got it! Should I go for the latest BIOS version, or do I need a specific one for the Ryzen 7 5800X?
