What should I do if my PC was exposed to rain and now has no video signal?

I had my PC ready to sell, but since it didn't have an operating system, the buyer wouldn't take it. So, I brought it back home, but unfortunately, it ended up in the rain. After cleaning and letting it dry for a week, I installed a Windows SSD and plugged it in. The PC powers on and makes noise, but there's no video signal on the screen, even after trying a different HDMI cable and attempting to get into the BIOS. Any thoughts on what might have gone wrong?

Honestly, with that amount of exposure to rain, the situation isn't looking great. Repairing it might be infeasible, and it could very well be considered e-waste. You might want to look into professional repair, but prepare yourself for the worst.

It sounds like you might be dealing with some corrosion from the rain exposure. When water gets inside electronics, it can create issues you might not see right away. If I'd been in your shoes, I would have taken it apart as soon as I realized it got wet, especially removing items like the GPU to avoid any water getting trapped under the cooler. Just wiping it down might not have been enough to prevent damage.

Oh no, I thought just letting it air dry after a wipe would be enough. I guess I was wrong! Thanks for the tip.
