What should I do if my phone got soaked in water?

I accidentally left my phone in a basin full of clothes, and it got soaked in water without me realizing. When I finally took it out, the game I was playing was still running, so I turned it off to dry it out properly. However, now my phone won't turn on, even though I heard the charging sound when I plugged it in. I'm worried about it and don't want my parents to find out because they'll be really upset with me. Can someone please help me figure out what to do?

First off, you need to let it dry completely before doing anything else. It’s crucial not to charge a soaked phone. Lean it so the charging port faces down and wait it out. If it still doesn't turn on after that, getting it checked out by a technician is probably your best bet.

Just a heads up, don’t try to charge your phone after it’s been soaked! Instead, you should prop it up with the charging port facing down to help it dry out naturally. If it still doesn't work after drying properly, definitely take it to a repair shop for a professional look.

Honestly, it sounds like your phone might be toast. I think your best bet right now is to get a professional to take a look. They can open it up, clean any corrosion, and check for any damage. Just keep in mind that, with water damage, things can get tricky! Even if they manage to fix it now, it might still fail later because of leftover corrosion. I'd also suggest checking out some info on water resistance for the future.
