I'm a Cloud Engineer with the AZ-900 and AZ-104 certifications under my belt, plus about 6 months of experience. I'm looking for some guidance on what to focus on next to maximize my chances of landing a cloud-related job. Should I dive into learning DevOps tools like Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines? Or would it be wise to obtain an entry-level AWS certification for more versatility? Alternatively, do you think I'm ready to start applying for jobs? I would really appreciate any advice!

It’s tough to land a cloud role without substantial experience, but it’s not impossible. Consider starting at a service desk or NOC position to build your way up. That way, you gain knowledge of how cloud environments actually work.

You're definitely ready to start applying! Just remember, certification is just a foot in the door. Actual experience with projects and the tools will set you apart as you go through applications.

While applying for jobs, it can be really helpful to work on some personal projects to build your portfolio. Publish your work on platforms like GitHub or Medium. You could create projects based on topics you studied for your certifications—it helps solidify your knowledge and shows employers what you can do!

For sure! And don’t forget to write about your projects on LinkedIn too.

Getting real experience is super important. It's often more valuable than just certifications. If you can, look for entry-level roles or even internships that allow you to grow your skills in a practical environment.

Starting to apply now is a good idea! There's no perfect moment; you'll keep learning as you go. Make sure you're up to speed on Infrastructure as Code (like Terraform) and automating processes with CI/CD tools. Today’s employers look for people who know these skills well.
