Hey everyone! I'm currently in my third year of IT studies and I'm aiming to become a Sysadmin. However, I'd consider myself a total beginner in this area. I recently finished the Google IT Support course, but due to a tight 60-day deadline, I feel like I rushed through it and didn't retain enough information. I'm looking for guidance on a few things: 1) What core topics should I focus on learning or reviewing? Any relevant certifications that would help? 2) Suggestions for basic home labs or personal projects to build my sysadmin skills? 3) Any soft skills that are crucial for success in this role? I'm open to any resources, tips, or personal experiences you'd like to share. Thanks a ton!

Focusing on scripting is key—learning PowerShell, Python, or Bash can really elevate your skills. Being comfortable with the command line is essential since it’s often more efficient than using GUI. I actually prefer the CLI as well! It’s much quicker than clicking around and looks impressive when you can script things.
