I'm a computer engineering student in university and I'm about two years away from graduating. I'm feeling a bit lost because I don't remember much of what I've learned and I'm not sure what to focus on for my future career or what else I should learn. I like programming, and I wish I had chosen computer science instead, but it's too late to switch. I do have some basic knowledge of programming languages like C++ and Java from my required courses, but it's all at a beginner level. What should I do or learn to get myself on a better path?

When it comes to job prospects, as long as you have a degree, a computer engineering background works just as well as computer science for many employers. What you really want to do is build a strong portfolio. Try to create a variety of projects and showcase them on GitHub. If you're interested in Java, focus on mastering the basics first, then move on to Spring Boot. After that, learning a front-end framework like Angular can make you a full-stack developer, which is a great position to be in these days! It may take some time, but once you're comfortable, the job opportunities will open up for you.
It's totally normal to feel lost! Most people don't find their clear path until they start experimenting with projects. Choose what interests you the most whether it’s web development, app development, or AI. A great way to get started is by exploring small projects. The key is to focus on what piques your curiosity rather than trying to find the perfect career path.
You really should pick an area based on what excites you! If you're leaning towards game development or web development, your focus will shift greatly. There’s a helpful list of programming languages that might spark some ideas for your tech career. Whatever you choose, make sure to enjoy the journey!
