What Should I Know Before Attending DevNexus 2025?

Hey everyone! I'm super excited because I'm headed to DevNexus 2025 in Atlanta soon, and it's my first time attending a big two-day conference. I've been to smaller meetups before, but nothing like this. I'm looking for some advice from those who have attended DevNexus or similar conferences.

Should I bring my laptop, a tablet, or just a notebook for taking notes? Also, should I plan out which talks I want to attend ahead of time, or is there usually enough room for everyone interested? Any other tips or insights you might have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you do go to a workshop, make sure to do any necessary prep work beforehand. It saves a lot of hassle! I bring my laptop for quick checks, but a phone can be enough for some needs. Plan your schedule wisely! Check which talks are being recorded so you can catch any missed ones later. And definitely engage with speakers; many are around during breaks or in the hallways.

I usually only take a laptop if I need to keep up with work emails. For the conference, a notebook works well for me. I like to make a mental note of interesting talks during breakfast and then just see how the day goes. It’s also fun to chat with other attendees and share tips while enjoying meals together! And don't forget to pick up some swag; the t-shirts are usually high quality!

Thanks for the tips! I’m excited to talk to new people and step outside my company’s bubble!

If you plan on attending any workshops, definitely bring your laptop. But if you're just attending talks, a notebook should suffice. Also, regarding the talk attendance, it's good to plan ahead since some rooms can fill up fast. I recommend checking out nearby food options too. The food at the convention center might not be the best, so plan to explore places like Max's Coal Oven Pizzeria and Twin Smokers BBQ, which are close by. And don’t forget to bring a hoodie; it can get a bit chilly inside!

What’s the workshop experience like usually? I’ve never done one before!

One of the best parts of conferences is getting to chat with the speakers. If you attend a talk that interests you, don't hesitate to approach them afterwards—they love getting feedback and discussing ideas. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to network!

Totally agree! I’ll be speaking there too, looking forward to it!
