I'm 17 and finishing school in the UK. I've just landed a Level 4 DevOps apprenticeship with Amazon starting in September. Since I have no previous experience in a work or DevOps environment, I'd like to make the most of the time I have between now and then. I'm eager to get a head start, even though the role states no prior knowledge is necessary and that they'll provide training. My CV includes a few basic Python projects, but I'd love to hear any advice on what I should familiarize myself with and tips for transitioning from school to a professional setting. Thanks in advance!

You're super lucky! Apprenticeships are gaining popularity as a great alternative to university, especially for tech roles. I've applied to loads of positions myself, and it can be tough. Just keep learning and don't hesitate to reach out to current apprentices for insights on what to expect in training. You've got this!
Congrats on landing the apprenticeship! A good starting point would be to look into courses like '100 Days of DevOps' and '100 Days of Cloud.' They cover a lot of fundamentals that are useful for a DevOps role. I've been working as a cloud support engineer for a while, and trust me, it's a wild ride! Even after three years, there's always more to learn. Getting familiar with cloud computing and using AI tools will definitely help you stand out before you start. Good luck!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll check those courses out. Sounds like a solid plan to get ahead.

Haha, appreciate it! At least I know I’m not alone in this job hunt struggle.
