I've got a PC with an AB350-Gaming 3-CF motherboard, a 1660 Super GPU, an AMD Ryzen 5 1600X CPU, and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. I'm looking for advice on which component I should upgrade. I'm particularly interested in playing the new Doom game, so any suggestions that help with that would be great!

You could enhance your setup by getting a 5700X CPU or a 5800XT for around $135-150 each. For graphics, check out used 3070 or 3060 Ti options for under $300. Just know you'll need to upgrade both to meet Doom's requirements; your current rig won't handle its ray tracing needs.

Really appreciate your help! I'll consider these upgrades.

Consider upgrading to a used RTX 2080 Ti and a Ryzen 5 5600. This combo will significantly boost your performance as you'll need both to play the new Doom efficiently. The current 1660 Super won't cut it for the ray tracing features.

Thanks! I’ll look into those options.

If you want to play the new Doom, you might need to reassess your expectations. That game is pretty demanding and requires a ray tracing card, which could blow your budget. You might want to keep an eye out for a used 3080, but be aware your CPU won't keep up; you'll likely need at least a 5600X, which could set you back $200. Honestly, your build is getting a bit outdated for the latest games.

Yeah, it sounds like you'll need both a better GPU and CPU to really run Doom well.

Exactly. It might be worth looking into upgrading part by part over time instead.
