I'm looking to upgrade my Acer Predator prebuilt gaming PC but I'm a bit stuck on the next steps. Right now, I have an Intel i5-11400F, 8GB of Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, 32GB of RAM (2x8GB HyperX DDR4), and a mix of SSD and external storage. The limitation I'm facing is that the motherboard uses an LGA 1200 socket. My main concern is whether to upgrade the CPU, which would also require a new motherboard, case, and potentially a new power supply. I'm hesitant to switch to DDR5 RAM due to the high costs and I'm also considering whether I should switch to AMD since I'm changing motherboards anyway. I deal with photography and gaming, and I don't want to risk losing any data on my drives during the upgrade. My budget is around £700. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Before diving into upgrades, it's good to clarify what issues you're facing. Are there specific games where you're noticing low performance? Understanding your needs can guide you on the best upgrade path. For instance, if you're feeling the strain in games like Dying Light or Minecraft, it might be time for a CPU overhaul, which means a new motherboard too. Just remember to check if your case can accommodate a standard motherboard setup.

Yeah, I've been getting lower FPS on newer games too. It seems like the CPU might be the bottleneck if we're hitting limits on performance.
