Hey folks! I've had my current setup for a while now – it's a 9700k, 2070 Super, and I've got 32GB of 3600MHz DDR4 RAM. I've been putting off upgrades until I landed a job, but now that RAM prices are soaring, I'm not sure what the best approach is. I mostly game at 1080p 144Hz, playing everything from competitive multiplayer games to AAA titles and indie games. My PSU and storage are solid, so I don't need to rebuild from scratch.
I'm looking for advice on how to upgrade without bottlenecking performance since I can't really just swap the GPU out given my resolution. Do I bite the bullet on RAM prices, or consider second-hand AM4 options? I'm aiming for a CPU/GPU combo that will keep me set for at least 4-5 years. I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!

Honestly, you don't need to rush into an upgrade right now for 1080p gaming. I’d suggest waiting until prices drop for RAM and then consider upgrading your CPU, RAM, motherboard, and GPU if you have the funds later. Just hang tight!

I see what you're saying, but my goal is to hit as close to 144 fps as possible. It's tough playing newer games like Starfield with less than stable 60 fps. I guess I’ll just tough it out until I can get my dream setup when prices come down.
