Hey everyone! I'm planning to build a gaming rig soon, and I'm aiming for the ability to play pretty much any game at 2K resolution while hitting 120 FPS with all graphics settings maxed out. I'm not interested in 4K gaming or going above 120 FPS. I want to ensure I won't experience any CPU or GPU bottlenecks. Currently, I'm considering specs that include an AMD 7800X3D processor, an RTX 5070 Ti graphics card, and 32GB of RAM. Is this too much, too little, or just right for my needs? I'd appreciate any recommendations or insights you have! Thanks! 🙂

If you’re not aiming for 4K, the 5070 Ti should work well, especially with the 7800X3D chip. Keep your 32GB of RAM; it’s great for ensuring smooth performance across the board.
You might want to reconsider the expectation of hitting 120 FPS with max settings in every game, especially if you’re not planning on using any upscalers. For demanding AAA titles, you'd likely see around 80-100 FPS with your setup. For better performance, researching optimized settings could help, along with using DLSS.
Your setup looks solid for 1440p at over 120 FPS. Just keep in mind that no matter what you choose, there could always be a bottleneck to contend with. It's something to consider with high-end gaming builds.
Hitting 120 FPS on max settings is quite ambitious. The 5070 Ti might struggle to consistently reach that mark depending on the game. For many AAA titles, you're looking at around 70 to 120 FPS, varying with optimization. If you're open to using DLSS or frame generation, that could help with performance, but if ray tracing is enabled, it's a different story—staying above 60 FPS could become challenging, especially in graphically intensive games.
Honestly, you might find that your specs are overkill for most games. They should perform well for even the most demanding titles, making it a balanced choice for a 2K experience.
Honestly, for what you want, the X3D is a bit much. A standard 5070 would get the job done just fine!
Yeah, aiming for 120 FPS in modern AAA games is pretty tough. If you're into multiplayer, you should be fine, but graphically demanding titles like Black Myth: Wukong struggle even on higher-end GPUs.
