I'm in need of some guidance on picking out a PC for my 12-year-old son. It's his first real gaming computer, and honestly, I'm pretty lost with the current tech landscape. I'm open to buying used parts or a whole second-hand PC since I don't think he needs the latest and greatest to play games like Rocket League, Fortnite, BeamNG, F1, and a bit of Call of Duty. He currently has a Gigabyte M32Q monitor, so the setup should be capable of decent frame rates at 1440 resolution. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Right now, RAM prices are sky-high due to recent trends, so I'd suggest looking for a DDR4 setup, specifically the AMD AM4 platform. It hasn't jumped in price as much as DDR5. If you can find a used AM4 X3D chip, that would be awesome for gaming! Otherwise, the 5600X is still good for most games. For the graphics card, aim for at least a second-hand 4060 Ti with 16GB. Better to steer clear of GPUs with under 8GB, especially if you want it to last.
First off, what’s your budget? That'll really help narrow things down!

Just a heads up, the 5600X might struggle with BeamNG, so keep that in mind!
