What to Do About a Hidden Spy Cam Found in My Girlfriend’s Old Flat?

Hey everyone, we recently found out that there was a hidden spy cam in my girlfriend's previous shared flat, aimed at the bathroom shower. We discovered it while checking some belongings and even found an SD card with around 100 videos on it, but most of them are encrypted—only two are viewable. These two show my girlfriend in the shower, and they were recorded just three days before her former flatmate moved out. We're really trying to wrap our heads around this situation and have some specific questions:

1. What does it mean that only two out of the 100 videos are unencrypted? Does it indicate that they were downloaded?
2. Is it possible to comment on how hard it might be to decrypt the remaining footage based on the encryption method?
3. Is there a legal way to search the internet for this kind of video content without hitting illegal sites?
4. Overall, what can we deduce from having this SD card and the camera?

I appreciate any insight you all can provide. My girlfriend is involving law enforcement, but I want to be as prepared as possible for what lies ahead. The SD card and the camera are sealed and untouched. Thanks for reading!

It sounds like a really troubling situation. Honestly, without doing a proper analysis of the SD card, it's tough to draw any conclusions about the encryption. Law enforcement is the best bet here—they'll have the tools and expertise to help. Just try not to handle the card or camera too much; it’s best left to the professionals who can properly investigate.

Totally agree! It's good to stay informed, but the police should really take the lead on this matter.
