I've been having some weird issues with my network lately. After dealing with a cookie logger that hacked my PC, I thought everything was back to normal since I recovered my accounts. But now I see an unknown device labeled 'WebOS tv' on my modem. It's showing only a MAC address and no other details. I reset the modem to factory settings and even formatted my computer, but this device is still showing up. I checked the DNS settings on both the modem and Windows, and the Google DNS I set up is still there, which is good. The odd thing is, the modem doesn't show any IP address for this 'WebOS' device. Is this just a bug, or could it be some sort of network virus that stays after a full reset? I'm really confused and need some clarification on this issue.

It sounds like you might have a combination modem/router, and many of them remember devices that were connected in the past, even if they're not currently online. If the device isn’t requesting an IP address, it's likely not active on your network. Try pinging it—if you don't get a valid response, you should be fine.
You might also want to scan your network. The Fing app is great for this—it’s free and can help you identify devices based on their MAC addresses. The database is pretty reliable for recognizing manufacturers. It'll come in handy even when you're traveling!
Hey, 'WebOS TV' refers to smart TVs like LG's, but if you've got another smart TV already showing up with a clear IP and MAC address, then seeing this duplicate is strange. Typically, each device should have a unique MAC address. It could just be a glitch or a leftover record in your modem's history.
