What to do after spilling a soft drink on my laptop?

So, I had a bit of an accident while hanging out with a friend. I was drinking a lemonadexCoke, and when my friend hit my hand, the drink spilled onto my laptop's trackpad. Luckily, my Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i with a Core i5 120u was still working fine after the spill. I immediately turned it off, opened it as much as I could (about 180 degrees), and put it upside down to let any liquid leak out. After a few minutes, I checked it again and it seemed to be functioning normally. I powered it down again and put it away in my bag. I know I should probably seek professional repairs since I have extended coverage, but as a student, I'd like to resolve this myself for now. What should I do next?

Honestly, it's a good idea to get it checked out. Sometimes, liquid damage can take time to show effects. You might think it’s fine now, but there could be long-term issues brewing.

I've spilled drinks on my laptop too! Once I spilled vodka and sprite, and it survived that. But be careful—it only took one big spill to mess it up completely! So, keep an eye on it, but don't stress too much just yet.

Haha, pop and microchips—a classic combo, right? Just kidding. Seriously though, watch out for any weird behavior in your laptop. The issues might come up later. Stay vigilant!

You definitely got lucky! But really, be careful; turning it back on right away after a spill isn’t the best move. It's like tempting fate with all that tech and drinks around.

You know, it’s frustrating seeing drinks right next to our systems. Just remember to be cautious and think about where you place your drinks next time!
