I ordered a replacement AirPod and ended up finding my original one the same night. When I contacted Apple support, they told me to call back the next day to cancel the replacement. However, when I called, I found out that the replacement was already processing for shipment and couldn't be canceled. Now, I also can't return it. I was advised to refuse delivery, but I live in an apartment where packages are just dropped off. Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I really stuck paying $100 for this?

Unfortunately, service parts like AirPods usually can't be returned once processed. It's a tough situation since you found your original one after the fact. If you do end up with the extra one, maybe consider selling it if Apple can't help you out.
It sounds really frustrating! Typically, once the replacement is in processing, you're right that cancellation is often not an option. Apple should have clearly communicated that to you. Refusing delivery can sometimes work, but it doesn't guarantee a refund, so be cautious. I'd recommend chatting with Apple support again to see if they can offer any solutions.
Yeah, it's confusing! They should make the cancellation policy clearer. Maybe try asking for a supervisor next time?
I had the same thing happen! I found my missing AirPod just a short while after requesting a replacement and ended up stuck with it as well. I think the key is to act quickly next time!
I totally get where you're coming from. I was in a similar spot and they told me different things. Just keep pushing for clarity with them!
