What to do if my Mac’s charging ports have stopped working?

I bought a Mac about two years ago, and one of the charging ports stopped working about a year back—probably something got into it. Now, just today, the second port has also stopped working! My battery is completely drained, and I'm honestly freaking out. I don't want to spend a lot of money fixing this. It was charging fine just half an hour ago, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Have you tried different charger bricks or just mixing the cables? Sometimes it's just a simple issue with either the cable or the plug, so swapping those around might help.

Are you referring to the charging ports on your Mac? First off, try getting another charger to see if that works. If it does, then you’ll know your charger or the cable is the issue. You can switch out cables to figure out which one is faulty. Honestly, if you search for solutions regarding Mac charging issues, you'll find plenty of helpful guides online.

Just a heads up, with newer Macs, if your MagSafe isn't working, you can use any compatible USB-C charger instead. Sometimes, the Mac will just pause charging while it’s in operation—check your menu bar for any notifications to see if that’s the case.
