Hey everyone! My graphics card, a 2060, just died after six years of use. I'm seeing artifacts and can't render anything, so it looks like the GPU core is shot. Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to move forward. My hardware is quite old, so I'm wondering if I can salvage anything from my current setup. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, G Skill F4-3200C16D-16GTZR RAM, MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard, NZXT Kraken X62 cooler, NZXT H510 case, and a couple of Samsung SATA SSDs. I'm worried the cooler might not be usable, so I plan on using a forced convection heatsink to avoid leaks on new hardware.
I game a lot on an ultra-wide monitor (3440x1440p at 144Hz) and am also getting into VR and some AI stuff, but that's more of a secondary interest. I have my eye on the Ryzen 5900X and the Sapphire Pulse 7900 GRE, but with all the price changes and new generation releases, I'm feeling a bit out of the loop. Any advice would be appreciated!

I’d suggest going for an x3d CPU on AM4 if you can find one or a 5700X, and pair it with a 9070XT. That combo will keep you gaming for a long time!
Going for a 5900X and a 7900GRE would be a solid upgrade! What’s your budget like?
I’m thinking around 1k is reasonable, but I can stretch it a bit if needed. Just want to avoid wasting money!
Are you thinking about buying new parts or looking for used? This can make a big difference in what you can get!
I prefer new stuff because the second-hand market here is either super expensive or shady. It feels worth it to me to pay a bit extra for the peace of mind that comes with a warranty.
Honestly, a new build could be the way to go!
What do you think is the best approach for that? With how RAM prices are right now, I didn’t feel like building was the best option.

I'm really into the 9070XT suggestion! Would you not consider upgrading to the 5900X instead? Is the 5700X good enough for a mid to long-term setup?
