I accidentally spilled some water on my membrane keyboard while drinking and immediately unplugged it, cleaned it with tissues, and set it upside down on a closet to dry. I'm wondering if there's anything else I should do or if I'm in the clear now?

Opening the closet door helps with airflow, so do that! If there are any impurities in the water, you might want to clean it gently with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol. Just remember to let it dry completely!
Definitely let it dry! Keep it unplugged, and NO to hair dryers or heat, please! You can place it in front of a fan for better airflow. After a day or two, it should be fine, but be prepared with a backup keyboard just in case.
Placing it in sunlight can help speed up the drying process, so that's worth a shot! Just keep an eye on it and don't rush things.
Let it dry for at least 24 to 48 hours before trying to use it again. Water usually won’t damage electronics as long as they’re not powered on. Just be patient and see what happens after it dries.
