What to Do When Your PC Screen Goes Black After Enabling Secure Boot?

I'm facing a problem with my PC where the screen goes black, and my keyboard and mouse are unresponsive. It seems like the PC powers on—lights and fans are running—but I'm stuck at this black screen. This issue came up after I enabled Secure Boot and it switched to custom settings. I've tried removing the CMOS battery for half an hour and shorting the prongs, but nothing changed. I also tested my HDMI connection directly from the motherboard after taking out my GPU, and it didn't work either. Additionally, I removed both RAM sticks and tested them individually. I updated my drivers and BIOS last week, but I can't find a dedicated USB for Q Flash on my motherboard, which is another method I've read about but don't know how to execute. My specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT GPU, Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard.

I've seen similar problems after enabling Secure Boot on Gigabyte and MSI boards. A BIOS update usually helps, but since your motherboard doesn't support BIOS flashback (updating without a CPU), you're kind of stuck. The workaround of connecting your monitor to the motherboard's video output won't work either because your CPU lacks integrated graphics. You might need to visit a repair shop that can use an EEPROM programmer to update your BIOS.

It sounds like this all started when you changed the secure boot settings, right? That can definitely cause some issues, especially on certain motherboards.

Yes, that's correct!
