What to Do When Your SSD Shows a Hard Disk 3(3F3) Error?

I built a new PC and tried to set it up, but I ran into a problem with my SSD. I initially downloaded some drivers from a friend's PC onto a flash drive, and his computer started lagging, leading to issues with the flash drive getting ejected. After restarting his PC, we encountered a "Hard Disk 3(3F3)" error, prompting us to press F2 to run the HP diagnostics. We did a lengthy test that showed everything was fine, yet the error persists. I updated and rolled back the BIOS, but no change.

Interestingly, I swapped in another SSD, which worked correctly, but the problematic SSD continues to throw this error. I've tried numerous key combinations to get back into the BIOS but without success. Here are my system details to assist in troubleshooting:
- HP OMEN 25L Desktop with an Intel i5-10400 processor.
- I'm running Windows 11 with 72 GB of RAM. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

If you're only facing the Hard Disk 3(3F3) issue with that particular SSD, it might be wise to take it out and try it on another PC. Checking the SMART values could reveal if there's a health concern preventing the boot. This could give us more insight into whether it’s a hardware failure or another issue.

That's a good point! Just curious, do you think the action of copying drivers to the flash drive could affect the SMART values? Like, is that something to worry about?
