What to Expect from an On-Site SRE Assessment?

I'm gearing up for an on-site assessment for a Site Reliability Engineer position after already nailing the oral interview. I'm a bit anxious about the hands-on portion, though, as I'm not quite sure what sort of tasks might come my way. Has anyone experienced a similar assessment? I'd love to hear what kind of challenges to prepare for and any last-minute tips for the next few days. Just a heads up, this is a junior role requiring under 3 years of experience. Thanks a bunch!

From my experience, the on-site usually focuses on troubleshooting, incident response, and automation tasks, especially scripting. You might get some system design challenges too, so brush up on those areas. It's really about showcasing your problem-solving skills and how you approach a situation. Good luck!

Honestly, some places just use the on-site as a formality to confirm you’re who you say you are. But if they do dive into technical tasks, expect them to ask you about solving real problems quickly. Automation skills can really shine here, so have some thinking exercises ready.
