What to Expect in a Final Platform Engineer Interview with Staff Engineers?

Hey everyone! I'm at the final stage of interviewing for a Platform Engineer position at a fintech company. So far, I've gone through technical screenings, coding tests, and cultural assessments. Now, I'll be meeting with two Staff Software Engineers who I'd be working alongside. They want someone ready to boost developer productivity without causing technical debt. I'm curious about what to expect in this round. When software engineers interview platform engineers, do they usually focus more on collaboration and culture fit, or do they dig deep into platform and infrastructure knowledge? Any advice or experiences would really help me out. Thanks!

From my experience, engineers don't always interview platform candidates directly. I hold a title as a Staff Software Engineer, but I focus more on DevOps and SRE practices. So, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up discussing collaboration instead of tough technical stuff. Just be prepared for some technical insights, but don't stress too much about being grilled like you might expect from a pure software engineering interview.

Got it, thanks for clarifying! I figured some might not be directly about code then. If you were in my shoes, what types of questions would you suggest I prep for?
