I'm gearing up for an on-site technical assessment for a Site Reliability Engineer position. I've already nailed the oral interview, but I'm pretty clueless about what they'll ask during the hands-on portion. If anyone has experience with similar assessments, I'd love to hear about the types of tasks or challenges I should anticipate. Also, any advice on what to focus on in the few days leading up to it would be super helpful! Just to note, this is for a junior role with less than three years of experience. Thanks in advance!

From what I've seen in similar assessments, they really like to check your ability to troubleshoot and automate tasks. Expect hands-on challenges that could test your practical skills in monitoring and incident handling. Just remember, if you hit a snag, try to stay calm and think through the problem step by step.
That sounds spot on! I'm also curious, any particular scripting languages you think would be beneficial to focus on?
You should definitely prepare for troubleshooting and incident response scenarios. Automation tasks are common too, so brush up on your scripting skills. They might throw in some system design questions, but keep it straightforward since it's for a junior role. Just have confidence, and you'll do great!
For scripting, Python or Bash are often preferred in these scenarios, so definitely brush up on those!
