Hey everyone! I recently got an Acer GX-781 from a family member, but it didn't come with a hard drive. I'm totally lost on what kind of hard disk I should get. Is there a specific type I need to look for, or can I choose any as long as it meets certain specs? I know this PC is a bit older, so while I don't expect it to handle the latest demanding games like Genshin Impact, I'd love to be able to play something like The Sims. Sorry for the rookie question and thanks a bunch for any help! English isn't my first language, so apologies if I'm not using the right terminology.

For your Acer GX-781, any SATA drive should work just fine. If you're considering an SSD, keep in mind that 2.5" SATA SSDs are less common now, but they’re still available. That could give you faster performance compared to a traditional hard drive!
Honestly, I recommend going for an SSD instead of a traditional hard drive. Nearly any PC made in the last couple decades will accept a 2.5" SATA SSD. Just double-check if the specs support M.2 NVMe SSDs, as that's what many modern builds use now!
I appreciate the advice! Would this work: Kingston NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1 TB M.2 SSD? It looks similar to the one the PC had before.
No, that specific one won't work because you need a SATA M.2 SSD. While the shape is the same, the interfaces differ. A 2.5" SSD would also work if you want something simpler. You can find a list of compatible options online!
