Hey everyone! I'm in the process of putting together a gaming PC and I'm wondering what kind of monitor would be the best match for it. Should I go for a 1440p or a 4K display? I'm planning to play games like Assassin's Creed and Civilization, so I want to ensure I get the right monitor. Here are my PC specs: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32GB DDR5 memory, 2TB SSD, and an RTX 5070 graphics card. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, at 32" or less, I can't tell the difference between 1440p and 4K unless I'm really looking for it. Just make sure you get something with a good refresh rate!

Stick with a 1440p monitor at 165Hz for the best gaming experience. You might like different panel types like IPS, VA, or OLED, and visiting a store to try them out can really help you decide. I've been using a Samsung VA panel with no issues at all!

Definitely agree! Trying them out in person is a good idea. Each panel type has its pros and cons.

If you're mostly gaming or watching videos, go for a 27" OLED—it's stunning. But keep in mind OLEDs might not be great for reading text for long periods, so if that's a concern, you might want to choose an IPS panel instead.

For full immersion in gaming, I'd suggest a 1440p IPS monitor that's at least 27 inches and supports 165Hz. You can filter for these specs on PCPartPicker for options. Be sure to check user reviews before making your choice!

With your setup, I'd recommend sticking to a 1440p resolution. It's optimized for gaming, and you'll get great performance with your GPU. If you can stretch your budget, go for an OLED display and aim for at least a 27-inch screen. You won't regret that decision!
