I'm looking for advice on upgrading my PC to improve gaming performance. Here are my current specs: I've got a Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU, an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 CPU, 32GB of 3200MHz RAM, an MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max motherboard, a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 CPU cooler, and storage consisting of a 1TB P3 SSD, a 1TB 7200 RPM HDD, and a 480GB A400 SSD. My budget is $750. Any recommendations for what I should focus on first?

Have you thought about overclocking your RX 6700 XT? Pushing it above the factory settings while undervolting could reduce temps and give a nice increase in FPS, especially for those demanding UE5 games. You could also try the same with your Ryzen 5 5600. It might help you hold over until you decide to upgrade your GPU.

What kind of games are you typically playing? Your upgrade needs might depend on that. If you’re playing a mix and running into issues with Unreal Engine 5 games dropping below 60 FPS, you might need to consider which specific component is bottlenecking your performance. Are you running into problems mainly with AAA titles?

Yeah, I've been avoiding a lot of UE5 games because of that low FPS. I'm used to smoother gameplay at over 200 FPS in games like CS2 and Valorant, so it's frustrating. Just don’t know if upgrading my GPU would solve it or if it’s just bad optimization on the dev side.

I see you’re using the same CPU and GPU as I am, and I’ve been wondering if the micro-stutters are more on the CPU side or because of RAM speed. My suggestion would be to wait and see if the next gen of GPUs and AM6 boards are worth the investment, the current prices don't seem to be in favor of upgrades.

Yeah but who knows how long we’ll have to wait for AM6? Prices could just end up being even higher!
