What upgrades do I need for my PC to handle a 3090 TI?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC, which I built about 4-5 years ago with my dad's help. Right now, I've got an RTX 3090 TI, and while it's an awesome GPU, I feel like the rest of my setup isn't quite up to par. I'm aiming to run games at mostly full settings with 120+ FPS, but I've been hitting some performance bottlenecks. Here are my current specs:
- GPU: RTX 3090 TI
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
- RAM: 32GB DDR4
- Motherboard: ROG Crosshair 8 Hero
- PSU: Crosshair RM750x
- Storage: 3TB SSD

Also, I use a 4k monitor; does that impact what I should upgrade? Any suggestions on what components to focus on for an upgrade would be really helpful!

Consider upgrading your CPU, especially if you're thinking about transitioning to AM5 tech. This would mean you'd need a new motherboard and DDR5 RAM as well. RAM prices are a bit high right now, so it might be wise to stick with your current setup for now. Also, what storage are you using? That's important too!

AM5 sounds like a solid push forward, but I totally get the RAM prices are a concern. I've got a 3TB SSD too, so at least you're covered there!

Your GPU is strong, but hitting 4K at 120FPS is tough for any card, even the high-end ones. Have you tried using DLSS for performance boosts in supported games? Also, it could be useful to check if you've overclocked or optimized your GPU settings recently. Upgrading to a CPU like the 5800X3D could help with average FPS improvements and stabilize those 1% lows during intense gameplay.

If you're dead set on upgrading, just grab a better AM4 CPU if that's what you're leaning towards for an easy upgrade path.

With the current setup, going for the 5800XT is a reasonable upgrade. It will give you better speeds and performance compared to your 5700G. If you think you want to jump to AM5 and DDR5, that's an option, but it’s definitely a more expensive route right now.

Yeah, I've been thinking AM5 and DDR5 might be the way to go, but I guess a 5800XT upgrade is a solid move considering the current market.

A solid choice might be to upgrade to the Ryzen 5800XT or 5900XT, but remember to do a BIOS update first. Your current specs are pretty good, and if you're still feeling underwhelmed, consider switching to Intel LGA 1700, but be cautious with used parts since they can be risky.

Before upgrading, it might help to clarify what you do with your PC. Upgrading just because of theoretical performance issues isn’t always necessary, but if you're gaming a lot and struggling to maintain 100+ FPS, that's worth addressing.

Yeah, I game all the time, and I’ve noticed in certain titles, like Roblox, my FPS takes a hit, so I feel like I need to upgrade.
