I'm looking to enhance my current PC setup. I originally bought it without much understanding, and while it works decently for most tasks, I've been forced to play games on low settings to achieve over 60 fps. My goal is to comfortably hit 120+ fps. Here are my current specs:

- Processor: Intel Core i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz
- RAM: 16.0 GB
- Storage: 1.82 TB HDD and a 512GB SSD
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB)
- System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

What should I consider upgrading?

It sounds like your components are getting a bit dated. If it were me, I'd save up and plan for a complete upgrade. Switching to an AM5 motherboard will require new RAM and a CPU, but it'll be worth it for the performance boost. You might also look at upgrading your GPU and switching to NVMe storage down the line. It really depends on your budget though!

If you're focused on gaming, I'd prioritize upgrading the CPU and motherboard, while RAM could be optional. A solid AM4 or LGA1700 DDR4 setup would let you reuse your RAM. But if you can go for an AM5 with DDR5, you'll see even better results. Your GPU should manage 1080p well, but if you're aiming for higher resolutions, a new GPU might be necessary too.
