I'm looking for advice on upgrading my Dell office PC since I'm struggling to run modern games like the Resident Evil remakes on it. Currently, I have an Intel i3 8th gen processor with integrated graphics, 8GB of RAM (two 4GB sticks), and a 200W power supply unit (PSU). I've been able to play some older games, but the performance and graphics quality are really poor. I want to play the RE4 remake and God of War, but I'm not sure if I should increase my RAM, buy a dedicated GPU, or both. I noticed I have one PCIe slot. Would a NVIDIA RTX 3050 fit in my setup, and will my 200W PSU support it? If not, what's the best upgrade path for a rookie like me?

Honestly, it might be more cost-effective to consider getting a newer used PC instead of upgrading your current one. Something in the $300-$400 range with a GTX 3060 or RX 6600 would be a much better upgrade overall and would save you a lot of headache later on.
It's tough to say exactly how much an upgrade will cost, but if you save up to $150, it might help as a starting point. Just remember, you'll likely need a new PSU and GPU, so budgeting for that is key!
You definitely need to upgrade your GPU and PSU first. You might want to consider getting at least a 450W PSU to ensure good performance and safety for a new GPU. Your current 200W just won't cut it for something like a RTX 3050. Also, if you're on a budget, check if you can find a used GPU that fits your needs. Don’t forget to budget for a new PSU too!
Yeah, I was thinking that too! The case is very small for a GPU, and I might need to replace the PSU as well.
Keep in mind that your current casing might not even support a bigger GPU. Dell office PCs can be pretty limiting in terms of upgrades, so check the inside measurements before you buy anything. You could look up some forums about your specific model for advice, too!

What about cooling and fitting? I mean, can a bigger GPU even fit in my case?
