What Wattage PSU Should I Choose for My PC Build: 1200W or 1500W?

Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building a new desktop PC, and I need some advice on the power supply unit (PSU). My setup includes an Asus Astral 5090 GPU, a 99503dx CPU, an Asus ROG Strix X870E-E motherboard, and 64GB of RAM, along with a be quiet Silent Loop 3 360mm AIO cooler in an Antec Flux Pro case. I'm considering the Corsair HX 1200i and 1500i models, and I'm trying to figure out which wattage would be best. My main goal is to create the quietest possible build. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I have a similar build with a 5090, and I'm currently using a NZXT 1200W PSU. It's been more than enough for me! If you limit your power to around 80% and slightly overclock, you can run your GPU efficiently without it pulling too much power. I recommend sticking with the 1200W unless you foresee massive future upgrades that need extra power.

Thanks for that insight! If both the 1200W and 1500W are priced the same, are there any downsides to getting the 1500W?

When it comes to PSU wattage, it's not always about getting the highest number. A good tip is to look for a PSU that has an eco mode which can help reduce noise levels. A 1200W PSU should be more than sufficient for your setup unless you're planning on some extreme overclocking.
