Hey everyone! Last December, I upgraded my first PC build with some parts I could afford, but I kept some older hard drives from previous years. I've been experiencing random shutdowns, even though my CPU temperatures seem fine. I tried troubleshooting by disconnecting all HDDs except for the 2TB drive, which stopped the crashes, but one of my M.2 drives keeps disappearing intermittently. Just today, my PC shut down while I was watching a show, and now it keeps powering off. I can sometimes get into BIOS, but when I try to boot into Windows, it just says 'shutting down' and turns off. I checked PCPartPicker and noticed the power draw went way up after adding my case fans. I'm not sure if it's counting only one fan or all six 120mm fans I have. I could really use some advice on what wattage PSU I should buy. Thanks for any help!

As others mentioned, a 750W should be sufficient. I doubt your system will draw more than 500W at full load, but it’s always better to not push the PSU to max capacity on a daily basis.
I'd recommend getting at least an 850W PSU with a gold rating or better. It should give you a good buffer for your components and performance.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I’d go for a 750W at a minimum, but ideally an 850W from a reputable brand to ensure stability and reliability.
If you're using PCPartPicker, a safe rule is to take the total wattage and add about 100W to that. A 750W or 850W should be perfect for your build.
Thanks for the clarity!

I appreciate the insight!
